🚁Bringing a Helicopter Back to Life: Our Grinding and Painting Journey🎨✨✨

Image
Recently on 6th January, my teammates and I took on the task of refurbishing key parts of a helicopter: the main rotor blade mount and the tail rotor. The Grinding Process: Where It All Began⚙️ Before any painting could begin, preparation was everything. The main rotor blade mount had seen its fair share of wear—layers of old paint, minor corrosion, and surface imperfections. Armed with grinding tools, safety gear, and a lot of patience, we began the process of stripping it down.  It was physically demanding, but essential to ensure a smooth and clean surface before painting. While the grinding process was carrying out by me, the girls had started their jobs too. Theybegan their tasks by cleaning the dust on the tail rotor and preparing the necessary tools for the painting process, which will be carried out once the preparation stage is completed. Keeping Our Helicopter Visit-Ready – And Welcoming a New Face 🚁✨

Image
As part of our regular routine, our team recently carried out the cleaning and preparation process of our helicopter to ensure it is always in its best condition for visiting and display purposes. However, it was sad that Aisyah didn't make it to join us that day due to health issue. What made this session even more special was the presence of a new member, Yue Ying who officially joined our group on that day. It was great to see fresh enthusiasm and curiosity as our new teammate observed and participated in the process. We look forward to many more productive sessions ahead, and we’re excited to have our new member onboard as we continue our journey together. 🚁πŸ’ͺ

Today I cleaned the helicopter with Wong and Alya because tomorrow there’s a visit from SJKC Pai Tek Nibong Tebal. After a week of mid-semester break, I actually kind of missed the heli. It was just normal cleaning, wiping and checking a few spots while we talked and laughed about random things. Nothing too serious, but it felt nice to be back in the hangar and around the helicopter again. Now everything is ready for tomorrow’s visit.

Hangar with MRSM students !

Image
Today, around 140 MRSM students came to visit the hangar. Since it was a big group, I went to the hangar to see if there was anything I could help with. Furthermore, it felt like a good opportunity to support the team and make sure the visit went smoothly. I helped with small tasks such as guiding the students, ensuring they stayed in safe areas, and answering simple questions about the aircraft whenever they were curious. It was nice to see how excited they were to learn about aviation and to watch them explore the hangar for the first time. Their enthusiasm actually made the atmosphere lively and fun. Thankfully, the interior cleaning that me, Alya, and Wong did yesterday really paid off because the students were able to step inside the helicopter and see the interior up close. It felt satisfying knowing that our work contributed to giving them a good experience.

Cleaning Session Inside the Helicopter – Interior Vacuum Day

Image
Today, me, Alya and Wong worked together to clean the interior of the helicopter. Our main task was vacuuming the inside, and honestly, the vacuum was already quite old, so the suction was slow. Because of that, the cleaning took a bit more time than usual. But since the three of us are already used to doing interior cleaning, we still managed to get it done smoothly. We took turns reaching tight spaces, removing dust around the seats, and slowly clearing the floor panels. Even with the slow vacuum, we could see the interior getting cleaner step by step. Working together made the task easier and more fun. Overall, it was a simple, steady, and productive cleaning session for our group. 🚁✨

Explore Helicopter in and out !

Today was such an exciting day because we got to  learn more about the helicopter  and its main components. Sir Zihad explained important parts like the  main rotor, tail rotor, rotary wing, and control stick . It was amazing to finally understand how each part works together to make the helicopter fly. Everyone was  so excited and happy to learn  — no one felt sleepy at all! The hands-on learning and real-life explanations made the session even more interesting. It was a fun and meaningful experience that gave us a deeper appreciation for aerospace technology.

Deep cleaning ( second task)

Image
Today marked our  second day of cleaning the Wasp helicopter , and this time it was all about  deep cleaning . Since the  event date is getting closer , we wanted to make sure the helicopter looks its best for display. We worked more thoroughly today, focusing on the  smaller and harder-to-reach areas  that we couldn’t finish during the first session. It took a lot of effort and teamwork, but the results were worth it. The helicopter looked much cleaner and shinier after all our hard work! Even though we were tired, it was satisfying to see the progress. Everyone felt proud seeing how much better the aircraft looked compared to yesterday. We’re excited to see the final outcome once everything is completely done!
